I created a plugin for squeezecenter which basically adds functionality to control a separate whole-house amplifier via iPeng. I'm using two squeezeslaves and a receiver to provide the input sources (clients) to the amp. I then use the amp capabilities to group zones, adjust volume and so forth. So far I've been successful except in one area; volume control. I want to use the volume control on iPeng to control the volume of the zone. But I don't want it to send volume commands to the client. Rather, I want to fix the volume output of each player to 100% and use the amp volume instead. This works out well for the squeezeslaves as I fix the PCs vol control to 100% and configure the slaves to use hw vol. But if I do this for the receiver, it sends volume commands to the client AND the amp. This isn't exactly what I want, however. Instead, I'd like to be able to control the volume slider in iPeng even though the Volume control setting is set to "Output level is fixed at 100%".
Has anyone tried this and got it working? I read on another blog somewhere that the web interface allows you to change the volume control even though the client output is fixed at 100%. Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated. -Mark PS. The squeezeserver perl code is crazy configurable, but I'm exhausted doing experiments as I have to constantly restart the server. -- maagma ------------------------------------------------------------------------ maagma's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=35090 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
