I'm not sure if this is the right place for an ignoramus to ask about Whitebear. Let me know if not.
I want to be able to play my SB library over devices other than my Touch. I also see one should be able to play the SB files via WMP. I have installed Whitebear, and it says it and the SB server are running. I also installed LAME and Whitebear recognises that it is installed. Firstly, I have no idea whatsoever how to get WMP to see Whitebear as per the pictures on the Whitebear website. I know how to get WMP to see a library of files, and have done so in the past. But what is Whitebear to WMP? I'm baffled. How do I tell them to talk to eachother? Secondly, I did get my Humax PVR to see Whitebear over my network (which I assume means that my firewall is allowing the right ports to be available and UPnP to work). I can see Albums, Artists and Genres as expected. However, I can only see MP3 files, not FLACs. This also happens when I look through my music folders. I had this problem before with TVersity - they provided a new configuration file which fixed the problem. For the few MP3s I have, although I can see them via the Humax I can't play them - nothing happens when I try. I've been told the Humax PVR is a very strict and limited user of DLNA. Any ideas?
