Thank you for the prompt feedback. I uninstalled and reinstalled the
plug in (resetting the server in between). The same problem is still
occurring. I have never been provided with a popup asking me for
permission for the plugin to connect to the internet. I grant that it
seems like it could be a firewall problem, but the firewall is not
turned on (the system preferences indicate it has been turned off this
whole time). Might you have any other suggestions? :)
