The *CB skins (for example DefaultCB) is about doing exactly this, they
will link the current playlist links to Custom Browse instead of
standard browse menus.
They will show the menus configured under "Manage header/footer items"
section in Custom Browse settings page. To be specific, when clicking
on an artist, it will show all header/footer items with an identity
starting with "artist/*" which means the "Object type" parameter has
been set to "artist. The default behavior is a bit different than what
you like but it's definitely possible to reconfigure it so something
similar as what you are requesting, so give it a try and experiment a
bit.
