Squeezeslave and softsqueeze are two different software players.
Softsqueeze is Java based and emulates older SB players (e.g. SB3, Boom, Transporter) is minimnally maintained just enought to keep it running with latest version of SBS/LMS. Squeezeslave has active development and is intended to be used without a user interface.
