After the power surge I replaced the 80 Gb HDD with a 1 TB HDD. This allowed me to move my music from an external HDD to the internal HDD. I figured this would improve some operations. So, I moved the collection, cleared the LMS database, deleted all caches, rescanned my collection, reestored the TrackStat ratings (this is one place where MusicBrainz came in handy because the paths were different, but the MusicBrainz ID was the same). I have a couple of observations:
1. The 1 TB HDD allows for a greater virtual memory for the server, which seems to help with performance. With the refresh/musicbrainz options turned off in TrackStat, the LMS startup is about 10 seconds for me. 2. I did increase the cache_size in SQLLiteHelper.pm like pallfreeman suggested. That should help some. 3. Before I replaced the HDD, my nightly TrackStat backups had gotten to ~47 MB each. Quite large. After a rescan, ratings restore, and export/backup, the file size is ~13 MB. Quite a difference! I haven't looked at the files to see what's changed/missing, but 30 MB is a lot of data in a text file. 4. I ran Database Query to look at how "healthy" my LMS/TrackStat environment is. Frankly, according to the queries, it's not very healthy. There are a lot of duplicates with musicbrainz IDs (919), there are numerous TrackStat inconsistencies, and a couple of Custom Scan inconsistencies, too. Erland, it's #4 that concerns me the most. Should I start a separate thread for those? I can post the query results. I would need some guidance on addressing the potential issues. It may be that some of them are benign, but you'd have to be the judge of that. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ prabbit's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11142 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96124 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
