OK, I looked into it. As it stands, iPeng _does_ send the metadata and the server does get it. However, the server somehow seems to relate that data to the player's buffer size and that seems to confuse it, probably due to iPeng's much larger buffer size compared to the Squeezeboxes. It helps for me to force iPeng to use the smaller buffer.
