On the 4S there will be less advantage than on newer devices. The "big"
UI changes have been on iPad and on iPhone 6. And, of course, if you
also look for the iPad version you get that more or less for free since
iPeng 8 is a universal App.

On iPhone 4S you will get the dark/light color scheme and a configurable
main menu. And the MultiPlayer control gut much more intuitive and
easier to use which helps a lot with lots of players.
And, of course, the iOS 7/8 look&feel.

Two other details might be of importance for certain use cases: If you
use LMS 7.9 with additional browse modes, the two artist lists and
especially the custom library views you probably want iPeng 8, iPeng
Classic doesn't really support that well.
And if you use the iPhone as a dedicated player in a dock, iPeng 8 can
now stay active forever, even if it's "power" state is set to off and
the display is off (using "preserve connection") so that you can still
remotely control it. For iPeng Classic that only worked for ten minutes.
