I'm running the latest version of the SmartMix plugin (1.7) with LMS 7.9, music sources for the plugin are Spotify and Deezer, no local content.
Oh, and don't forget to set your country in the SmartMix settings. This needs to correspond to the country from which you subscribed to Spotify.
