For me, no, I had the wrong password. However I'm now in "Please restart
Logitech Media Server for the changes to take effect" Hell, with no
number of restarts or deleting of cache.db getting rid of the message.
So I can't test it, since the plugin is never displaying on the list
now.

Most likely this restart issue is due to some failed plugin update. Would the plugins page tell you which one needs to be updated?
