Thanks for providing this fix, BPA, it's solved the main problem I had (which had symptoms similar to everyone else).
However, I've reverted to switching off the DASH streams again because they currently only seem to give me 48k (at least, as reported on the web interface and in the player's info) for all streams. If I switch DASH off, I get 339k for live streams and 128k for listen again (iPlayer and iPlayer extra). I'm in the UK and I've actually had this problem for a little while now (perhaps a month), certainly before the missing GZIP routine stopped the Listen Again feeds working. I think I used to get the same bitrates using DASH as I currently do with HLS (or whatever it's falling back to). There's nothing being logged. Is this the case for everyone, or just me? I'm using several older SqueezeBoxes (Boom, receiver, SB3) with LMS 7.8.1 - 1472561076 and it's running on Ubuntu 14.04 i386.
