David,
A made a fix to the root maven.xml file to add the descriptors directory to the source distribution goal. I also make a couple of small documentation fixes.
I have not been successful in running the site:deploy goal, but I am still working on it. This SVN repository seems flaky today (or my connection to it).
What else can I do to help you with RC4?

Site update is : 'maven site:site site:deploy'
Ok, let's go ahead and try to get the fix for the distributions in
within the week. After that we can cut an RC4 with whatever bugs have
been fixed. I think there have been at least 4 since the release.
(Let's try to get those in the release notes).
Craig, Do you have the cycles to get the distribution goal updated?
