Hello Armin, Today i have looked in to your mapfilemanager, that can be downloaded with the pmapper project. And found some drawbacks when it will be used for a big company like ours. In our case it is a pre to have seperate map files for all sections of the company, for privacy reasons. But we don't want to spend an awefull lot of time on managing all of our map and ini files. About a year ago we wrote a mapfile manager that fullfills all our expectations of a mapfile manager. Some of the advantages over yours are (in my opinion):
- New layers are automaticly 'added' to all sections/map projects - Layers are customizable per section, to include/exclude (some) search options or whatever you like. - All map files can be recreated in just 1 click of a button. - Ini file is also generated. - All layers can be resorted in all sections/map projects at once. - A large overview of all projects vs layers permissions. I was wondering if we could merge our projects and have a good Mapfile Manager in the end. How do you think about this merge of projects ? You can take a look at our mapfile manager at http://devel.ekky.local/tmm/ Kind Regards, Piet Ekkebus email: pekkebus at wszv.nl[1] Tel: (+31) (0) 115 641 275 Fax (+31) (0) 115 641 200 waterschap Zeeuws-Vlaanderen Kennedylaan 1 4538 AE Terneuzen Nederland Links: ------ [1] mailto:pekkebus at wszv.nl -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
