I guess one needs the following settings (config_default.ini): map2unicode = 1 when the map file is NOT in UTF-8
map2unicode = 0 when the map file is in UTF-8 encoding It works for sure if you use the language files (should always be in UTF-8 encoding) for the translation of the descriptions in the map, that's how the default settings are done. But it should also work in the way described above. armin On 16/05/2008 04:12, Luigi Castro Cardeles wrote: > i hava tried that but did not work. i change the metadata description > adding this characters - çó - but they dint show correct, like attach > image. maybe i was putting that characters at worng place. > > i modified pmapper_demo.map using gedit (saves at UTF8) and my web > browser uses UTF8. > ------------ > METADATA > "DESCRIPTION" "Countries - çó" > "RESULT_FIELDS" "NAME,AREA_KM2" > "RESULT_HEADERS" "Name,Area" > "ows_title" "countries" > END # Metadata > ------------ > and got this response (attached files) > > best regards, > > -- > Luigi Castro Cardeles > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
