Sherrod Brown is better than Paul Hackett, hands down. There is simply no
question of this.

Middle-class bloggers prefer Hackett because they prefer style over
substance (Hackett's a veteran) and the bloggers don't care about the
working class. Hackett doesn't even approach Brown by the "electability"
standard, since Brown had far more name recognition than Hackett.

Hackett was pissed that Brown had originally said he wasn't going to run,
then changed his mind after Hackett had announced his candidacy. This is
probably why Hackett went to the New York Times instead of Ohio papers to
break this story, and to whine about being "betrayed." That's pretty bad
form in my book. He could have done the sensible thing, endorsed Brown for
the Senate and run for Congress again. He may have had a chance.
