As one steps back and takes in the whole panorama I
suppose we must be grateful for small favors. For
instance, the medical labs do not routinely use human
subjects for say the high velocity rifle tests or the
brain stem cutting or even the injection of live
viruses. On the other hand, we do have the various
wars that are conducted with an eye towards improving
military capabilities; the hideous and grotesque use
of sadistic research science and the delight in
knowing that HIV could well have been intentionally
put into the population as Boyd Graves and others have
suggested. No doubt in 40 years the medical labs
will be using clones instead of animals and saying to
us that medical work done on these subjects is ethical
because they only look like humans.
