Interesting. My father was in the grocery business, but started as a
butcher. He was very concerned about trichinae and trichanosis but his
father was also orthodox and they never ate port because it was no kosher.
My father was a reform Jews but he has never eaten pork. He is still alive
by the way and is 96 years old.
