"...US Warns Russia to Act More Like a Democracy
By Peter Baker
The Washington Post
"The administration has privately identified to
Moscow concrete steps it should take before the July
meeting, such as
registering civil society groups that have been
harassed...."
Of course, to illustrate concrete steps a
democracy should take, Resident Bush will list the
names of people who have their telephones tapped, the
laws HE has signed with no intent to obey them, the
election rigging in HIS favor in Florida and Ohio, the
basic laws of the land, Treaties, he has unilaterally
abrogated, the people imprisoned without charges, and
the kidnappings and assassinations HE has promulgated.
That'll show 'em.
"...Bush called Putin on Monday to lobby him on
Iran, but during the call Putin changed the subject
and pressed Bush to finish negotiations allowing
Russia into the World Trade Organization. Bush vowed
to do so "soon." Aides said that there was no quid pro
quo but that they hope to conclude WTO talks before
the summit...."
Mike Nichols and Elaine May did a skit in which
they were teen agers in a parked car and Nichols was
trying to seduce May.
She finally agreed, and, upon taking off her
shirt, said,"But
will you respect me in the morning?"
He replied, "I'll respect you in the morning!
BOY, WILL I
RESPECT YOU IN THE MORNING!!!"....
"Another option under consideration at the
White House is to have Bush visit Ukraine before the
G-8 summit to demonstrate his solidarity with former
Soviet republics that feel pressured by Russia...."
The White House could also ask Putin to visit
Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia, Brazil, North Korea, and
China, to demonstrate his solidarity with former USA
associates and others that feel pressured by the
U.S.A.
"...The Kremlin has come to realize that it has
an image problem in the West, and this week, for the
first time, it hired a Western public relations firm,
Ketchum. "They were looking for help to improve lines
of communication with the world media," said Ketchum
Senior Vice President Noam Gelfond...."
Ketchum, Deckum, and Dickum. Hire a thief to
catch a thief!
"...After Cheney's speech in Lithuania
yesterday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov pronounced
his remarks "completely incomprehensible," according
to the Reuters news service...."
Dmitri Peskov qualifies for U.S. citizenship!
"...Cheney made a point of meeting with two of
Moscow's least favorite people, Ukrainian President
Viktor Yushchenko and Georgian President Mikheil
Saakashvili, who led revolutions in those post-Soviet
republics....."
Putin, in order to act more like a democracy,
will schedule meetings with (U.S. deposed) Pres.
Aristede of Haiti, lay wreaths of flowers on the tombs
of (U.S. deposed) Presidents Allende of Chile, and
Sukharto of Indonesia.
"...There is no place in a Europe whole and free
for a regime of this kind...."
And Hipshot Cheney speaks from a distance of
several thousand miles, unless he annexes the European
Union into U.S.
"...Referring to Russia's brief cutoff of gas to
Ukraine, Cheney said, "No legitimate interest is
served when oil and gas become tools of intimidation
or blackmail."...."
Or tools of agressive and/or pre-emptive war!
So, Putin,
do as I say, not as I do!
