Something Really Sexy for Her for Holloween:

---
Please observe the following quote from John Wayne (of cowboy & WWII
soldier movie fame):
I don't feel we did wrong in taking this great country [the United
Sates] away from them [the natives of North America]. There were
great numbers of people who needed new land, and the Indians were
selfishly trying to keep it for themselves.
i think Israel is great. i have been there, and i definitely preferred
my stay in Israel over the time i spent with Israel's arab neighbors.
However, none of that in any way justifies stealing or occupying the
Palestinian's land - even if all the Palestinians had in mind was to
deliberately destroy it, which of couse they did not.
My reading of the past 300 years of the region's history suggests that
if the persisting occupants had been approached correctly by the world
community a gradual compromise for productive co-existance - including
immigration of a great many jews - could have been arrived at, even if
it didn't entail creation of a Zionist state. In my view, the world
aready has enough theocratic tyrannies with the US teetering on the edge
of joining the club as at least an associate member.
That said, in today's world, Israel does in fact exist. In fact, i am
completly comfortable with being counted among those who are glad it
exists. But, i also ardently support the view that Israel must do more
to accomodate the Palestinians and make peace with its arab neighbors
who technically have every bit as much right - if not more - to the land
that Israel claims as its own. Israel should at least return to its
1967 borders.
It's nothing short of a crime to argue the legitimacy of a 3,000 year
old deed to land that by the official account of the theives themselves,
that written in the Torah, was stolen from its original occupants in a
gruesome, barbaric campaign. Claiming as justification for the current
invasion that its existing occupants were in some way underutilizing or
wasting the land is only slightly less obnoxious, and every bit as absurd.
It's almost like the jews think they're white people.
Shalom
