Upgrading to 4.2 is too daunting for me -- too many dependencies, and
prone to breaking stuff. And, I have several machines. I'll just wait
until I upgrade the whole OS (sometime this year).
I just checked Distrowatch -- seems that Mandriva 2008 doesn't have
KDE4. It shows kdebase 3.5.7, along with qt-x11 3.3.8. It'll have qt4,
separately -- hopefully, at least 4.2.
As for KDE4 - none of the other major distros I checked (Ubuntu, Fedora,
PCLinuxOS, openSUSE, Debian) has KDE4 in a release version, either. For
most, it isn't even in the pre-release version. Seems like it'll be
awhile till that filters down to the masses (like me).
(Not that the KDE version matters -- just the Qt4 version).
