Yes, my book is much easier to understand (though I am biased ☺).
Chapter 8 is all about embedded files…so that will help.

I gave the references a try every now and then and half of the time it confused
me more than it helped >.<. It's quite some heavy lecture. But now I ordered

I agree that reading the specification can tell me if I missed something to be
removed. But that does only count for PDF related fields and objects. I cannot
fathom whether there are some Podofo specific objects which have to be removed
as well. Furthermore I'm still not quite sure if I can just bluntly call the
Clear() functions to get the corresponding PDF elements removed. It looks like
it works, the file size is decreasing, but I don't know if there are any
pitfalls, e.g. wrong order of clears, certain objects not to cleared and so on.
These are podofo-specific questions I'm asking ;).

what about reading the specifications Leonard referenced, instead of
trying with random PDF files, which usually tends to fail at the end
anyway? By reading the specification you get all the needed
information, thus also the answers for all your questions.
