that's okay. My review was nothing comprehensive, unfortunately. If
things/breakages show up in the future, they could/should be fixed
afterwards.
When I saw the FIXME-s about streams I thought of reference counting,
which may help (unless the copied object is meant to have its own full
copy of the stream). It's another story.
