I personally wouldn't have an issue with this but really none of the developers here own the copyright anymore so this is really a matter for the Apache foundation to consider.
I've always disliked this aspect of the GPL. It seems really silly that two open source projects can't co-exist together like this. LGPL I have much more sympathy for since it is just aimed at protecting the original code and does not spread to anything that may be linked together with it.
