I was not aware of this. Most likely he did not pay attention to the licensing terms. It is a frequent mistake among researchers and even in the industry. It was a long time ago. When this happens and we become aware of it, we kindly ask the person to switch to another software. Of course, there always is the option to publish the software under a Free Software license that is compatible with the GNU GPL. But that's for the author to decide, not for us to impose. All of them have always been very respectful of our copyright and I'm confident this will continue to be the case. I don't think University of Alberta is still using poker-eval.
