That doesn't make any sense. All the patch does is reconnect when a query times out. Even if you are seeing a ton of timeouts, it shouldn't affect the load. It would just enter bypass mode. Are you seeing a lot of timeouts? Did you check to see what processes were bringing the load up? Is this the load on the mail server or the database server (or are they combined)? Can you run my test program and see if you have the bug?
