But if I start Polipo and than Tor it's not working. Why that? I'm starting polipo as a service on my linux box. Tor is started manually after booting with vidalia. And this doesn't work. I always have to do restart polipo to get it working with tor. So it seems that Tor has to be started before polipo, which is annoying. Is there any workaround for this problem?
In the first scenario, where polipo starts before tor, do you receive any errors? Or any messages when trying to use polipo without restarting it? I run a similar setup where vidalia controls tor in my user account, but polipo is a service that starts up with the system. Polipo reports this in my logs: Established listening socket on port 8118. Established listening socket on port 8118. The first time is the service starting up, the second time appears to be when I attempt to use polipo after tor has started. -- Andrew ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
