I feel I should point out that if you want to make sure that nobody else
will contribute, you should use this style. I've been following a wide
variety of free software projects for more than eighteen years, and in
all that time *none* has used Whitesmiths: GNU, sure, K&R, sure, Allman
style, sure, even one using Ellemtel (shiver), but none using
Whitesmiths. It is enormously unpopular. I don't even know an
autoindenter that supports it other than Emacs's cc-mode (which supports
everything, and even it has some trouble with it and does not do a
particularly good job).

I suspect you came from Symbian coding, since that appears to be the
last holdout of Whitesmiths...

More generally, it is considered good practice in all software
maintenance to stick to the style of the surrounding code, whatever that
may be.
