Charles Krauthammer had a good description of John McCain and Sarah Palin the other day:
They can be seen by many Americans as “part of the family.” Uncle John and Cousin Sarah dress in everyday clothes are average sized man & woman, not particularly neat nor expensively dressed nor overpowering in appearance. They speak in ordinary soft spoken tones . Uncle John has a reputation as a governmental renegade/reformer built up through the years and cousin Sarah has a reputation as a governmental reformer built up through a shorter career as a town mayor and an Alaskan governor. They travel together and each gives luster to the other’s credentials and they agree on what they are all about. They give the impression they are a family team working together moving forward united. In purpose. People feel comfortable with them and not threatened by them and because of their histories, people have faith and confidence they will make the right decisions for them and America.. They do not travel separately. They do not have swept back hair nor wear $150.00 shirts. They do not make an imposing appearance. They do not yell nor shout in shrill tones. They do not make grandiose promises for the future of things they have never done nor tried throughout their careers. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Thanks for being part of "PoliticalForum" at Google Groups.
