Not quite, W. The difference is reportage (Edwards) vs. muckraking
(Palin).

The NE is hardly alone. There's a dirt-rush of muckrakers overrunning
Alaska.

Yet, it's a thing of beauty, like a Rovian stroke of genius. For every
speck of dirt will be weighed in hundreds of affirmative votes for
Sarah. And for each certified proof... weighed in thousands. Like
millions and millions of caribou stampeding, breathing fire all across
the lower 48. That's the clear impression I've gotten from every woman
I've talked to, every poll I've seen; imperfect women enraged, every
accusation taken personally. Abortion, health care, national defense -
all pale in comparison.

The die is cast, and no amount of flailing will change it.
