I don't get into this topic much as you can't resolve climate change within the parameters of the the socio-economic system that has caused it.
However, there are a couple of interesting considerations that are ignored by the apologists that think global warming is merely a natural cycle of nature. One is global cooling. If CFC's were to be eliminated, or greatly curtailed, the smog that pollutes vast areas of urbananized areas would clear. There is evidence to suggest that the disappearance of this cover could in fact raise global temperature. The only time that this theory was able to be tested was just after the attacks of 9/11 ironically enough, as air traffic had been bought to a standstill. The amount of air traffic itself in NY clouded the skies of the city. Measures were taken during the time of flight bans revealing a significant rise in temperature over the city. I think it was 0.75 degrees. Whatever it was, it was deemed to be significant at any rate. They other phenomenon that has been proven to be caused by air pollution is the dramatic change in rain patterns around the world causing torrential rain in some areas and severe drought in others. What has been proven, and it makes perfect sense, is that the tiny particles of of smog and pollution released into the air, combine with cloud formations, this combination causes the clouds to become heavier sooner changing the length of time it takes for the clouds to drop their rain It can be difficult to get partisan reporting as vested interst is often the the impetus for the compling of reports where the out come has been pre-determined--another indictment of capitalism. However, that the implications of an enviornmental calamity exist, is enough to cut back our CFC emissions as much and as quicky as we can.
