Good Morning Bear, I refrained from expressing my opinion last night, but I am one who tends to agree with those who think this was far worse or at a minimum, equal to the brutality and cruelty that the Nazi Regime was accused of doing. I don't let off my own Nation, the United States, as Eisenhower and others were also complicit in these firebombing atrocities.
The war was for all practical purposes, completed and done with by the time that the Dresden fire bombing and other fire bombings took place, and it served no military purpose, but was instead designed to inflict pain upon the German people. I can only imagine the horror that Mr. Gregg witnessed and attempted to describe...Something that the man could not even reflect upon or talk about for 40 years. Smoken, I didn't immediately think of Vonnegut and Slaughterhouse 5, but you are "Spot On"! Thanks for the refresher!
