Good Morning Brine, I too would like to see "Regime Change" in Iran. Iran is run by a select group of Islamic fundamentalist zealots called the "Council of Guardians/Assembly of Experts"; and the State of Iran is run do differently than any other religious caliphate with with the same goals, tendencies and mindset of its 11th and 12th Century Persian forefathers. It is well documented, (yet not really focused upon or covered by American media) that Iran has in the past, and continues to export and spread terrorism throughout the world, in the name of Islam.
Although I have a number of issues with Israel, I do believe in Israel's right to exist; Israel's right to defend itself; and in general, I have no problem with Zionism. If a Jew wants to go and prop up in the Israeli desert, more power to him; as long as it does not affect our national interests. It baffles me as to how you and Plain Ol' are opposed to these concepts. With regard to Guiliani, from a political standpoint, I am pretty much in the same camp. I will read the articles that you just sent; and as I have oft times stated, I am opposed to ANY American, politician, or not, who advocates for Israel at the expense of or at the behest of the United States! For instance, the capital of Israel is Tel-Aviv, and not Jerusalem. Without going into the reasons for this, (other than the UN was very specific some 69 years ago and spelled out the reasons why Jerusalem, which is an international "Open City" should not be the capital of Israel) I have yet to hear Rudy Guiliani acknowledge Jerusalem as Israel's capital. I have yet to hear Guiliani say or do anything that was counter to United States' interests, but maybe I am mistaken. (Again, I will read the articles that you have pointed to above) It's much different to commit some resources or conduct some type of an act, or form policy on behalf of Israel which is not conducive or beneficial to the United States, versus politic-ing, advocating for, or catering to to one sect of your constituency which happen to be Jewish.
