This is typical of those "Progressives" who are for the most part
uninformed or misninformed.

During the holiday season, we're having a lot of familial get-togethers;
and yesterday was no exception. I think I've shared this, but my family
for the most part consists of a number of "Progressives"; dating back to my
maternal Grandfather who was "Union" and a Democrat. Growing up, we were
all encouraged especially at the dinner table to discuss politics, world
affairs and current events, (including the women!) but there were two
rules: One: you cannot speak negatively about the Union; and Two: Nothing
negative or nasty about the Democratic Party. Of course, this was
forty-five years ago (and longer); but the proverbial apple doesn't fall
far from the tree! My maternal Uncle, now in his seventies, is of the
same fabric as my Grandfather; and my daughter, who was also brought up
with that same social mindset and emphasis of keeping abreast of politics,
world affairs and current events; made some interesting comments over the
last couple of days.

(Yesterday we had a big family luncheon with probably 25 family members
gathered; including cousins, uncles and aunts; etc. Last night we were
here at my home with me, my 83 year old Mother, my girlfriend and my
daughter and her fiance' who as a side note is an idiot, but I digress)

A few nights ago, the discussion for a short time was focused on Donald
Trump. My daughter made the comment that Trump was a racist. When
questioned as to why Ashley believed this, her answer was obviously based
on media reports; as she couldn't with specificity identify what Trump had
said that was racist, other than knowing it was purportedly comments about
Muslims and Hispanics.

I got to thinking about this and questioned Ashley last night regarding how
and why she thought the way that she did. In a nutshell, (and this ended
up being a rather long "Discussion/Conversation" which covered the gamut of
current political "Hot Topics"; from Gay Marriage, to Trump, to Islam and
the Obama Administration's "strategy" to combat domestic and international
terrorism) but I came to the conclusion that Ashley, and many Americans
are so influenced by our "Mainstream" media that their world view is
usually very tainted by a partisan, Progressive world view, and they have
so unaware and have no clue that they have been so tainted!

This is one of the reasons why I am now more convinced and repeat oft times
that most Progressives are misinformed and/or uninformed.....They literally
have no clue, other than what their government, or a news organization with
a socialistic/communistic agenda is propagating to them.
