Only 29 percent of Americans called themselves Democrats, the lowest number ever recorded by pollsters since Gallup began asking about political affiliations in 1951. The GOP did not fare much better, with just 26 percent of respondents calling themselves Republicans, one tick up from the the party’s all-time low of 25 percent, recorded in 2015. The poll found the share of Americans called themselves independents down a hair from the all-time high of 43 percent in 2015. “Americans’ attachment to the two major political parties in recent years is arguably the weakest Gallup has recorded since the advent of its polls,” according to Gallup’s Jeffrey M. Jones. __._,_.___ ------------------------------ Posted by: "Beowulf" <[email protected]> ------------------------------ Visit Your Group <https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/grendelreport/info;_ylc=X3oDMTJmMjQxN2FrBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzIwMTk0ODA2BGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTMyMzY2NwRzZWMDdnRsBHNsawN2Z2hwBHN0aW1lAzE0NTI1NDM4NTk-> - New Members <https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/grendelreport/members/all;_ylc=X3oDMTJnM3VxZGdyBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzIwMTk0ODA2BGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTMyMzY2NwRzZWMDdnRsBHNsawN2bWJycwRzdGltZQMxNDUyNTQzODU5> 1 [image: Yahoo!
