*Stupid Republicans go to War with Themselves and Miss Opportunities to
Defeat Democrats*

While Republicans Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz fight it out, Mitt Romney and
Lindsey Graham are going after Donald Trump’s taxes. Even Ted Cruz joined
in calling for Trump
<http://dailycaller.com/2016/02/25/trump-says-he-cant-release-taxes-because-hes-being-audited-video/>
to release his tax returns. All of a sudden the IRS is the GOP’s friend?

The following is from the Washington Post
<https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/02/24/mitt-romney-believes-theres-a-bombshell-in-donald-trumps-taxes/>
:

“‘Former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney assailed billionaire real
estate mogul Donald Trump on Wednesday afternoon for failing to disclose
back taxes, repeatedly suggesting that the billionaire’s financial records
may contain ‘a bombshell’ that could damage his White House bid.

“‘I think we have good reason to believe that there’s a bombshell in Donald
Trump’s taxes. I think there is something there,’ Romney said on Fox News’
‘Your World’ with Neil Cavuto. ‘The reason I think there is a bombshell in
there is because every time he is asked about his taxes, he dodges and
delays.’”

Romney’s demand is thick with irony. In 2012, when Romney was running for
President against Obama, then Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid

(D-Nev.) “falsely claimed that Romney had not paid taxes in 10 years.” Did
Romney immediately make his tax returns available? It took him months to
release his 2011 tax returns. “President Obama’s reelection campaign used
the issue to characterize the millionaire as untrustworthy and out of touch
with the average American voter.”

Don’t we have enough trouble with the IRS, always fearful that we might get
a notice that we are up for a random audit or worse, a targeted audit
because of our outspoken political beliefs? At the CNN GOP debate in
Houston, Texas, Dr. Ben Carson told the audience “that after he spoke out
against Obamacare at the National Prayer Breakfast he was audited by the
Obama IRS.”

“I never had an audit until I spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast. And
then all of the sudden they came in and said, ‘We just want to look at your
real estate dealings.’ And then they didn’t find anything. And then they
took a look at the whole year. And they didn’t find anything. And then they
looked at the next year and they didn’t find anything. And they won’t find
anything… *The fact is the IRS is not honest and we have to get rid of
them.”* (H/T: Gateway Pundit

There’s nothing in the Constitution that presidential candidates must
release copies of their tax returns. And why is that? Because when the
Constitution was drafted there wasn’t an income tax. An income tax was
added to the Constitution via the 16th Amendment in 1913.

Get this. “An estimated 45.3 percent of American households — roughly 77.5
million — will pay no federal individual income tax, according to data for
the 2015 tax year from the Tax Policy Center,
<http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/numbers/displayatab.cfm?Docid=4323&DocTypeID=7>
a
nonpartisan Washington-based research group. . . . The top 1 percent of
Americans, who have an average income of more than $2.1 million, pay 43.6
percent of all the federal individual income tax in the US; the top 0.1
percent — just 115,000 households, whose average income is more than $9.4
million — pay more than 20 percent of it.” (H/T: New York Post

)

All the talk about rich folks not paying their “fair share” should be part
of this presidential campaign directed at the Democrats. Instead, people
like Romney are attacking Donald Trump and his taxes rather than the
Democrats who are in the wealth confiscation business to buy votes. Once
the 50+ percent threshold by non-tax payers is reached, we may never see a
constitutionalist in the White House ever again.

A better discussion should be whether we should have an income tax and the
programs and vote-buying schemes that go along with the government wealth
confiscation Amendment.

There’s enough on what is public about Donald Trump for voters to make a
decision. He’s said some stupid things. His policies — if you can call them
that — are all over the place. Much of what he has supported and believed
in the past should make every conservative wary of him. Even so, a high
percentage of Republicans are still voting for him out of anger.

Anger is a dangerous motivator whose consequences are unpredictable. The
Bible says, “BE ANGRY, AND *yet* DO NOT SIN [Ps. 4:4]; do not let the sun
go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity” (Eph.
4:26-27).

Here are my recommendations:

   1. Attack the Democrats and Establishment Republicans and their grossly
unconstitutional tax and spending programs that are killing our economy and
keeping tens of millions of Americans in the clutches of government
   dependency.
   2. If after Super Tuesday, if Ted Cruz loses in Texas and/or Marco Rubio
loses in Florida, one or both of them needs to drop out of the race and put
their support behind the leader and work on beating Hillary and the
   Democrats in November.
   3. We need to remember that we are not only electing a president in
November. We are electing House and Senate candidates and at least one new
   Supreme Court Justice.
