I'm so ashamed of a good 40 % of my fellow Americans. Talk about your lockstep leftist.! I got in a heated argument with a 40+ year progressive liberal friend of mine yesterday. She's so drinking the koolaid and I swear she ticked off every talking point the left ever mouthed . We had to hang up the phones in the end. She emails me this afternoon and says she's sorry if she made me uncomfortable. That we won't be talking politics again. I wrote her back and told her I wasn't uncomfortable , that it got nasty as most political discussions get when you are so far apart in ideologies. I said I agreed about not discussing politics and that I have belonged to a political board for 10 years and I get plenty of that drama. We'll let it go...but she was being almost as bad as the board tards. Very nasty no matter that I tried to be conciliatory because of our long time friendship. No more. She made the rules about not discussing politics. If she makes some smartass comment ..ever...I'm on her like flies on rice. Friend or not. I'm done with that shit. I'm standing up for my political principles whether it pisses her off or not. Honestly...I think it made her uncomfortable....and she was projecting.
