So you were fortunate enough to have parents that could afford to send you
to a private school, but you don't think all children should have the same
opportunity?

Why do so many in this country claim to want "equality" (personally I only
want equal opportunity), but then oppose school choice? The government has
failed MISERABLY to properly educate our children in America. In my
lifetime our public schools have gone from the best in the world to about
24th in the world - and they continue to slide down the list every year.

Our kids can't compete with kids in other countries; we don't come close to
winning international academic competitions and haven't for some time.

I was fortunate enough to have the money to move my kids to a private
school when they were in middle school and bored out of their minds in
their public school that offered absolutely nothing for gifted kids. 85% of
schools in America don't offer advanced learning opportunities for kids who
need them. Why on Earth would anyone think it makes sense to force everyone
to send their kids to a terrible public school that doesn't meet their
needs while forcing those parents to pay thousands every year in property
taxes to fund it??? Sorry but that makes ZERO sense.

The money should follow the CHILD. And the child's parents should decide
where his/her needs are best met.
