In the thread across the street, I think it was you, (Or Ragnar) who attacked my post as painting with a broad brush, (which is true....I was talking generalities!) but in particular, the subject got onto Viet Nam, and how "Un-Noble" our actions were.
I disagree, and it amazes me how folks seem to forget history, and contemporary history at that! Viet Nam was brought upon us by the "Truman Doctrine"; which was to match the Soviet Union's expansionist world view "tit-for-tat". Folks seem to forget the evils of the then communist infiltration on every continent in most every Nation-State in the world....Viet Nam was no exception. Although it was "error" on how we conducted the war; (and as I stated, we have sometimes "erred"!) you and other Secular Progressives, (*See* Jane Fonda) tend to forget the millions of people who lost their lives to the communists after we left the region! *See* the Khmer Rouge, Pol Pot; and the atrocities that took place in East Timor..... Again, how easy we forget contemporary history....
