I figured this one out long ago. It's because most women have biological 
clocks that start ticking in their late twenties so they get married then 
or just after. And most of us (men and women) don't really know ourselves, 
who we are, or what we want out of life until we're in our late 30s.

I would imagine it's no different for gays. Choosing any mate before one is 
ready to settle down doesn't end well a lot of times.
