When elected, Kennedy worked to end segregation in the Southern US,
and foster democracy for all who lived in the US. I am not sure how
many banana dictatorships (besides South Viet Nam) were underwritten
by Kennedy, and his VP who followed him. I think that Ecuador and
Peru, and Panama were all dependent on the US to keep the peasants
and the Indians in abject poverty. That being said, it should be
remembered that he was given only three years to accomplish his
agenda. Would he have kept Viet Nam from escalating ??
Bush on the other hand has successfully played King Midas in reverse.
He has turned a respectable nation, with a balanced budget, into the
laughing stock of the world. Fortunately, most of the world realizes
that he is not typical of most Americans.
