I wonder how many struggling American families will be able to afford the new vehicles that they are subsidizing? How many more would be coming from the Auto industry itself. What Henry Ford developed was a vehicle that all his employees could hope to afford one day. Or will the US owned companies continue to produce overpriced, poorly engineered, junk, that is designed to self destruct in about fifteen years at the most. These are the same companies that are also in the business of producing Bud cars for the rail roads, various subway equipment, and both highway cruisers (for Greyhound) and city buses. If the resolution of their fiscal crisis would give more North Americans the option of traveling to work etc. in any of the above. maybe the bailout would be a welcome development
