For the most part, for healthy pregnancies, flying is considered safe up to week 36, and at that point it's more a concern for the airlines and that you might deliver on the flight. - "...and refusing a doctors care" : A lie. Palin never refused doctors care and was, in fact, in touch with her doctor, Cathy Baldwin- Johnson, throughout the trip. The only thing she did not do is get doctor approval to fly, but as Baldwin-Johnson noted, Palin's pregnancy was normal, there were no complications, and Palin was experienced and would know when she was in labor.
