Personally, I am opposed to taking anything from Venezuela, until such time
as the Venezuelan government changes its policy towards the United States, (
*e.g*.; calling our President "Satan" and condemning our Nation, and our way
of life: http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/americas/09/20/chavez.un/index.html
)

Further, before the United States does any further business with
Venezuela, the Presidente Chavez and the Venezuelan government must be
required to return all seized assets that it has stolen from American and
international corporations. Venezuela must come to terms with acceptable
international behavior, and adopt a free market economy, which would require
el Presidente to rid himself of his corrupt practices, (I know Mark,
something that is not ususlly done in South America)

Ireland’s Smurfit Kappa corporation confirmed Monday that the Venezuelan
government had seized 1.500 hectares of land with eucalyptus the company
owns in the country valued in half a million Euros.

Coca-Cola issued a statement on Monday saying the company is evaluating the
president's request. The bottler said it was optimistic that conversations
with the government would "bring about proposals and alternatives that
benefit everyone."

Chavez did not say what measures his government could take if the company
spurns his request.
