You're welcome, Rig (although I suspect you figured it out all by yourself;).
On to euthanasia. Obama is wondering the value of an added week or month of life for old people when it costs the taxpayers thousands and thousands of dollars: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/03/magazine/03Obama-t.html?_r=3&pagewanted=6&hp In truth, I've wondered about this myself, but I'm not the one on the gurney. Then again, I doubt I'd want to hang around for another rerun of the Golden Girls. Besides, hospitals - that is, the visitors - drive me crazy. Crowding around the beds, smelling the place up with Brazilian flowers, violating the hours, bugging the nurses, filling the halls with the weight of the world. My 87-year-old neighbor is undergoing an operation to remove a brain tumor - which suddenly caused her to forget everything. Poor woman, after her husband died several years ago she's done nothing but complain about her ailments. Mercy would serve her hemlock. Instead, the living won't let go - bugging the doctors, overrunning the room with Brazilian tulips. That's another thing; a Living Will. Until Obama signs the death sentence, Mrs. Neighbor may get a few weeks or a few months propped up in an adult highchair. A CNA spooning in the pablum. I'm also wondering about national health care; are doctors really that altruistic? Meanwhile, Obama has created an unreal emotional world for himself. Think about it; a vacant father, a confused mother, half-relatives scattered around the third world. From where I'm sitting, this makes for a tenuous man, a man given to expediency - and a pliable conscience. To the point of being actively fatalistic. Not exactly the ideal outcome given the precursor; the biracial relationship. And don't let me start on Michelle, who's still hopelessly confused by White World. Which reminds me, the electorate should be required to take a test of some sort, say, geography. Like find your state. A multiple choice. Even better, "spell" your state. Some firemen went to the Supreme Court after being disqualified for promotion - because they passed the test, but the minorities didn't. Not a single one. The case is pending. Fireproof your house. Like I said, don't get me started;) --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Thanks for being part of "PoliticalForum" at Google Groups.
