This wasn’t the best kept secret in Washington. Hell; even short-bus liberals had Dick Cheney pegged as the evil puppeteer pulling George Bush’s strings. And; we can all thank God for it. As it turns out, 9-11 was the vice Presidents pivot point, his conversion.
There were the leaks in which Mr. Cheney was portrayed as chomping at the bit to dust off military ordinance and commence to dispatching Muslims by the bushel, off to their beloved Allah. It was Cheney who put forth the plan to turn Afghanistan into a large smoldering hole followed by Iraq and Iran. It was Cheney who ascribed to letting Israel off the leash and into the west bank and Gaza. And; sadly, it was Condi Rice and Colin Powell moderating moderation, caution and a measured, tepid response. The results were Bin Laden, “and his band of merry men” escaping Tora Bora, the Taliban allowed to migrate into Pakistan, the Iraq war lasting more than a week and the finest military in the world fighting with one hand tied behind the ACLU. When you think about it, this is as stark as the Botox injection sites on Nancy Pelosi’s mug. By the way; how many calories do you think Pelosi burns just by forcing that frozen, plastered face into a conniving smile? I’m just saying… We now know why Mr. Cheney is, “was” so hated by those wacky wahine wazzacks left of center and an order of French fries short of a happy meal. It is this; the former vice President had the unmitigated gall to actually stand for the defense of his country. He opined the destruction of our enemies. He put forth that tired, antiquated postulation that America should smite those who would do us harm in the name of a cult religion. We now know that Dick subscribed to the Ann Coulter antidote in application of Middle East Policy. That being that we should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. Can I haaaaaave an Amen? We’ve also learned something else. George Bush was as milquetoast and moderate as his affable pop. Not only did conservatives get Bush lite, it was also watered down. As it turns out, the second most powerful man during the Bush years was the conservative war monger we had been waiting for since Ronauldus Magnus Reagan hired the Acme van lines truck to move his davenport from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to the ranch in California. Good times; good times. Today America is being treated to the real Dick Cheney; unplugged if you will. While most of the Republicans are still curled up in a ball, sucking their thumbs and sobbing over their electoral defeat; “too timid to approach the Bamster’s poll numbers with even a discouraging word” conservatives are treated to a bald guy, “with a bad ticker” in a full fledged frontal assault on this socialist squirrel B. Hussein, jack of all asses. It would seem, scratch a former vice President, and find a patriot. Cheney is filling a vacuum; A vacuum of conservative leadership. It’s too early for a Jindal or Palin to enter the fray and accept the yoke of leadership for the Republicans and most importantly the conservative wing of the party. And; since most of the Republicans are still shuddering in their foxholes, or even worse, “bending over for the anointed one” it is fitting and proper for Dick Cheney to, “knight up” and take on this fire breathing, money grubbing, tax and spend fascist. After all; evil does triumph when good men do nothing.
