All media outlets pick and choose their news items, just as we do when we start topics. When the New York Times joined with several other newspapers and news gatherers to do their own recount of the Florida election of 2000 did they splash their results on the front page? No. Did they make it the number one or number anything on TV? No. It received a three-inch column on page A-17 of the Times. No matter how they counted, Bush won. But that was not the result they wanted so the public, especially Democratic party voters were left thinking the Big Lie that Bush Stole the Election. Once you choose sides, you cast away any sense of objectivity. No political party has the interest of the American people at heart. All they care about is gaining power so they can intervene in the lives of others and force everyone to pay for their agenda. Until the entire system is stripped of its power, it will continue to attract power seekers. Decentralize the power and make it local and the people will regain accountability in their leaders.
