Interesting. How do you handle the translations from one language to another of names such as Giovanni to John or Iago to James. As an example what are the names of the Gospels in your New Testament and how do they relate to the original names of them? Do you suppose that Peter the Great was called that in his lifetime or that Catherine the Great was called that in her lifetime? How was Joshua or Jeremiah spelled in your original Bible? How were nicknames handled in your Bible? In all the different versions of the Holy Bible are the names all the same and are the verses the same? Since the Bibles we use now are translations of the previous versions from the original Aramaic or Greek or Latin or whatever language they were written in originally. Since we no longer really have the original sources how can we be sure what Jesus was called in the original version prior to its being translated. Do the Coptic Bibles have the same names as the ones in use now? If not, which is the correct version of the names? As to the J not being in use prior to the 17th century, in many cases the I which was in common use prior to that date has been changed to J in the modern terminology for 3 centuries plus so that doesn't hold up either.
