That makes some sense. I think also that the oil companies should be pushed to expand their product lines to other energy sources. They already have the knowledge of the market for energy. If they can find an alternative source as well and do something with it, much like T Boone Pickens was going to do, and if they were not hit by windfall profits taxes but encouraged to put the profits into research the results might be worthwhile. As it stands I was reading that T Boone Pickens as looking to invest $2 billion just into the windmills let alone the transmission lines. That same day the govt was looking to invest $45 million, not billion but million, to push for energy research. I thought the comparison was ludicrous. If the feds are going to do something to push research and they are looking to control it, which they are, then $45 million ain't gonna cut it nohow.
