Well, Obama's impromptu press conference broadcast less than an hour ago was a qualified retreat from his original statement. He realizes now that he made a huge mistake, that he exposed the very basis of his agenda; get whitey. But he can walk back from who he is, regardless of how the Gates case ends. As for Gates himself, he's nothing more than a liberal pimp who has nor more business teaching at Harvard than does Louis Farrakhan.
Anyone who has been watching Obama since the campaign, knows that he's been stoking the racist coals. No longer content with subtlety, Gates handed Obama an opportunity to throw gasoline on the smoldering embers.
