It's not a "racial" issue, it's an Obama/Gates issue - a privileged class with an axe to grind, persons who somehow feel the need to publicly suffer for their ancestors.
We're also aware that cops are not exactly rocket scientists, they're pack animals. In many cases more like vengeful monkeys than tree- assaulting howlers. My basic suggestion is that you charm the socks off the cops, and humor the knee-jerk racists.
